BOILED SALAD DRESSING
1 cup sugar
3 Tbsp all pu1 cup sugar
3 Tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 large egg, beaten
1 tsp yellow prepared mustard
1 cup milk or evaporated milk
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 Tbsp butter, optional
In a saucepan, whisk together the sugar, flour and salt. Add egg, mustard, milk, vinegar, and water. Boil till thick. Add butter, if using and whisk till melted. ( optional). Let cool and transfer to a Mason jar with a lid. Keep refrigerated. Use as desired for lettuce salads.
For a wedge salad, add a wedge of ice berg lettuce to a salad plate. Add dressing. Add toppings of your choice.
Fresh chopped garden tomatoes
Chopped baked bacon
Red onion
Blue cheese crumbles
